The matchmaking is currently in Alpha so there are some bugs to be expected, which is why many people use the third option: These updates override the old expeditions as The Warden sees they are no longer useful. The matchmaking has a few options, such as Primary language, secondary language and a mic option, which lets you decide if you want to have people using the in-game voice chat or not. If you do not have friends who already have the game, the in-game matchmaking system is also an option. How to find a group to play with The first option is to either play with friends who already have the game, either by using the Lobby Id system or by joining through steam. As of Rundown 004 there is a new mechanic called Sectors, which adds more content to a rundown without making it too many expeditions long or too difficult for players who do not want to do it. Rundowns have different tiers, from A to E, with A being easier and E being harder. Rundowns come in different lengths, from shorter ones with fewer expeditions to longer ones with more, the amount of time a rundown is active is usually based on the number of levels, with shorter rundowns having a shorter amount of time active. They are changed every few months completely, meaning all expeditions of a previous rundown become inaccessible. The Rundown is a mechanic within GTFO which acts as a way for the Devs to add more content consistently. Progression: GTFO has no leveling system. Therefore, players should kill enemies in the most controlled way you can, such as a crouched approach with sledgehammer. Engaging combat: Monsters will impede player progress to the next objective, but players should only engage them because they stand in the way or pose a threat to your ability to scavenge or complete the objective, not because the act of killing them in itself is rewarding in any way. Therefore, quiet creeping might be the preferred method of moving through the Complex. If we assume ammo and health are limited, then triggering too many hordes will result in running dry and leaving us with only melee and low health. It can be a tremendous waste of resources and there is no reward for this approach. Stealth: Although some of us might prefer to just barge in and slay the horrors rambo-style. All players present in the current play session must stand in the highlighted area. Bioscan: Some doors require a bioscan for entry. Hacking: Some lockers and doors can be hacked opened/to retrieve whatever is inside, like keycards, ammo packs, medpacks, etc. GTFO requires teamwork to solve puzzles, and for finding items. The players must gather resources to survive, and work to unearth the answers about the past and how to escape. Complicating the process is the presence of hideous monsters, who have overrun the whole area. GTFO players form a team of four scavengers who are forced to explore the vast underground complex while searching for valuable artifacts. The Rundown- Big Content Drops Delivered Over The Year The Rundown is the work order mandated by The Warden, delivered as updates with new scenarios, monsters, weapons, and more. Go quietly or face an onslaught of monsters who will stop at nothing to kill you. You will have to procure ammunition and other essential survival tools onsite. Holster and Move Quiet Stealth is key to surviving the Complex. A strategic approach is needed if anyone is going to emerge from the Complex alive. Knowing what gear to take, what boosters to use, and how each prisoner will function within the team is vital to success. Here are two links to my original documents, but Steam will not auto open them for you, but most of, if not all the Information should be in the Lore Steam Guide now.Survive Exploring the Complex takes planning before you even drop. The guide above is a summary of all the important details of every log in the game, arranged chronologically, to provide a better understanding of how the events in GTFO's world have played out I made an unlisted guide so you don't have to go to sketchy google doc links However at the time of writing, it is lacking: (Santonian Industries site is also used to tease upcoming updates to the game) ChaseTug's Notion page - The GTFO Lore Database [Both of these sites are excellent for reading through and discovering what is going on with the world of GTFO and it's extensive cast of shady corporations and characters. The Official 10 Chambers Website Santonian Industries. There are always two really good resources out there for learning about the lore.
